Victoria Rowell won Outstanding Debut Author for her literary work 'The Women Who Raised Me" The NAACP has always worked tirelessly to bring forth equity in education and I couldn't have been included in a more prestigious program – the 39th Annual NAACP Images Awards. This year, the show was hosted by D.L. Hughley and in attendance were Aretha Franklin, RubyDee, Denzel Washington, Janet Jackson, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Julian Bond, Tyler Perry, C.C.H Pounder, Kirk Franklin, Angela Bassett, Vanessa Williams, Tichina Arnold, Kimberly Elise, and Todd Black to name a few.
